A Little History of Gordmans

Gordmans beginnings can be traced back to 1915 in Omaha, Nebraska when Sam Richman opened a small store named “Outfitters to the Family”. In 1936, Dan Gordman joined in as a partner and helped to grow the business. The whole reason that Dan Gordman met Sam Richman is because he ended up marrying his daughter. In 1948, Dan bought out Sam and changed the name of the business to “Richman Gordman”.

Over the years, the business grew more and more and eventually expanded out of Kansas. Today, there are a total of 66 stores that operate in 16 states. the year 1996 is when the business was officially changed to the name of “Gordmans”.
